US extends best wishes to Thais for Songkran festivity

BANGKOK, April 10 (TNA) - The United States has extended its best wishes to the Thai people on the auspicious occasion of the Songkran or the Traditional Thai New Year Festival next week. In a statement released by the US Embassy in Bangkok on Friday, US Secretary of State John Kerry extened the Traditional Thai New Year's greeting to the Thai people on behalf of US President Barrack Obama and the American people. Kerry wishes all the Thai people a happy and healthy Songkran, when they look forward to a prosperous Traditional Thai New Year and spend time with their families and friends. Kerry said that the Thai and American people share a long and enduring friendship and both allied nations cooperate on many important issues, including trade, health, research, climate change and regional security. According to the US secretary of state, Washington looks forward to working together with Thailand steadily on issues that matter to the well-being of both countries and the wider region. (TNA)
