U.S. journal Graphis honors Iranian artist Mehdi Saeidi

TEHRAN,Aug.25(MNA) -- Iranian graphic designer Mehdi Saeidi has been honored with a golden award at the annual poster competition, which is held by Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication Magazine in the U.S. He won the award for a poster he created for the Mexican educational institution Centro de Diseno. The poster was an entry in the Professional Services Category. The competition was held on the themes of child labor, pain, slavery, exploitation, hunger and grief. One-hundred works from across the world were presented golden and platinum awards at the competition and the winning works will be published in a book. Graphis was first published in 1944 by Walter Herdeg in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1986, with the help of his son, Marcel, Walter sold the company to B. Martin Pedersen. A few years later, the Graphis headquarters were relocated from Zurich to New York City.
