US SCHOLAR HOLDS MEETING WITH DIPLOMATS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ One of the participants of the “Open Ulaanbaatar-2014” forum, a US scholar and researcher Larry Diamond Wednesday held a meeting with diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr Diamond introduced to them an edited by him book "Liberation Technology Social Media and the Struggle for Democracy", which tells about an impact of IT and communications on the global democracy process. Some diplomats asked Mr Diamond about advantages and opportunities of the social media, new challenges and other relevant matters. Mr Diamond serves as senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and at the Hoover Institution. He also works as a director of the Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law.
