US-Thai military relations remain strong

BANGKOK, June 2 (TNA) - US senior military officers have confirmed on strong military relations between the United States and Thailand, with future continual cooperation planned on a sustainable basis. Colonel Desmond D. Walton, outgoing US Defense Attaché to Thailand and chief advisor of US military delegation to Thailand, made the confirmation during his meeting with Thai Armed Forces Chief General Worapong Sanga-net at the Thai Armed Forces headquarters in Bangkok on Tuesday to bid him farewell. The outgoing US defense attaché also led his successor Colonel Rocky Carter to pay a courtesy on and introduce himself to the Thai supreme commander. At the meeting, the senior US defense officers underlined longstanding and friendly relationship between the United States and Thailand, covering steady military cooperation between the two allied countries, including joint drills and educational programs, which would further strengthen and sustain both sides' military relations.
