U.S. vice president says democratic reforms, a result of entrepreneurship spirit

ISTANBUL (A.A) - U.S. vice president said on Saturday that democratic reforms and transformations were a result of an entrepreneurship spirit. Joe Biden said the United States would always support freedom and renovation searches. Democratic reforms and transformations were a result of an entrepreneurship spirit, Biden said during the Second Entrepreneurship Summit in Istanbul. Biden said people in countries like Egypt, Tunisia and Libya demolished governments and made their voices be heard. There were people that wanted obstacles before freedom of expression to be lifted, Biden said. Biden said those people wanted governments that would grant political and economic freedom, and those people wanted to speak, wanted freedom of press and were willing to make use of technological capabilities. The United States would always support freedom and renovation searches, Biden said. Moreover, Biden said Turkish-U.S. economic and military relations were improving, and there was 45 percent rise in trade between the two countries when compared with the previous year. Biden said he focused on problems and concerns Turkey and the United States were facing during his talks with Turkish executives. The vice president said he had the opportunity to recall that the United States was standing by Turkey in not only fight against terrorist organization PKK but also regarding developments in Syria and Libya. Biden said Turkey and Turkey's friends wanted a strong democracy and respect to human rights and freedoms in the region, particularly Syria. The vice president expressed hope that Turkey and Israel, two significant allies of the United States, would have the opportunity to better and boost their relations.
