Uzbekistan appoints new Deputy PM

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Dec.19 / Trend, D. Azizov / Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a decree to appoint Batyr Zakirov as the Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister in charge of complex communal sphere, transport, capital construction and building industry, a government source told Trend on Saturday. At the same time Zakirov will head the Uzbek State Committee on Architecture and Construction. Earlier Zakirov headed the country's largest 12th construction trust engaged in construction of the most important facilities. In particular, the trust was involved in the construction of the Forums Palace "Uzbekistan", as well as it was the main contractor of work on construction of the Education Centre in Tashkent, commissioned in November 2011. In early November President Karimov signed a decree to dismiss Batyr Khojayev from the post of the Deputy Prime Minister and appointed him as the First Deputy Economy Minister.
