Vaezi Calls For Accelerated Expansion Of Iran-Turkey Ties

Tehran, Sept 16, IRNA – Minister of Communication and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi in a meeting with the outgoing Turkish Ambassador Umit Yardim stressed acceleration of expansion of economic and cultural ties between Iran and Turkey. During the meeting in which Yardim bid farewell to the Iranian minister, Vaezi said both Iran and Turkey are geographically located in a turbulent region, adding that the more the two stable countries expand their economic and cultural activities the more success they would gain. “Naturally, the two countries enjoy many cultural, religious and economic commonalities and in the light of the present resolve obstacles and problems could be removed.” Meanwhile, the Turkish ambassador said that the new government in Turkey has launched a good start in bilateral relations and with regard to the documents signed between the two countries development of bilateral ties is tangible. He said Iran and Turkey are among effective and important countries in the Middle East region and can affect its development, adding that Tehran-Ankara cooperation in economic, cultural and political fields will benefit the entire region./end
