Vegetarian Festival in Thai South to draw tourists

SONGKHLA, September 29 (TNA) - Thousands are expected to hit Southern Thailand for this year’s Vegetarian Festival, which will be held over a nine-day period starting October 5, with participants flying in from Malaysia, Singapore and other Asian destinations. Apart from massive areas in each province dedicated to food stalls selling strict vegetarian diet, this year’s highlights include a spectacular fashion event in Hat Yai district of Songkhla. Diners can also expect all the best dishes in vegan style from up to 10 Asian cuisines at the fair. October also marks the end of the Buddhist Lent period, when the annual Wax Castle procession is held symbolically in Sakon Nakhon province on October 17. (TNA)
