VFS Global Open To Expanding Visa Application Centres In India For Malaysia

By Saraswathi Muniappan NEW DELHI (India), Sept 2 (Bernama) -- VFS Global, which already operates nine Malaysian visa application centres in India is ready to expand its network in the country if required, its regional chief executive officer, Vishal Jairath said. In 2010, VFS Global partnered the Malaysian government to start operations in Mumbai. Besides Mumbai, it has centres in New Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Pune while operations in Kolkata have been expanded to serve more applicants. "The operation in Kolkata commenced in June 2011. As a continuous improvement practice, the service was further upgraded to extend greater convenience and access," he told Bernama via email. VFS Global Malaysian Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Kolkata is now part of a Joint Visa Application Centre (JVAC), which is conveniently located in Rajdanga Main Road, Kasba, in Kolkata, West Bengal, said Vishal. "This JVAC is expansively spread and comfortably provides seating for 115 applicants with three dedicated counters for Malaysian visa applicants," he said. Previously, there was only one counter for Malaysia in an integrated office. The new centre was inaugurated by Malaysian High Commissioner to India, Naimun Ashakli Mohammad on Monday in the presence of New Delhi-based Counsellor (Immigration and Consular) Muhammad Hatta Kassim. VFS Global is the world's largest outsourcing and technology services specialists for governments and diplomatic missions worldwide, offering solutions that provide safe documentation, accounting and collection of passports and documents and fees to and from the Mission.
