VICE FOREIGN MINISTER IN LAOS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Paying a working visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Mongolia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Gankhuyag was received Monday by Thongloun Sisoulith, the Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a mechanism of the cooperation in Asia-Pacific region including the East Asia Summit (EAS), Mongolia’s willingness of becoming a partner of the ASEAN Dialogue, on establishment of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries and on elections of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and of non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council. Mr Sisoulith thankfully accepted an invitation conveyed by the Deputy Foreign Minister from the Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs to visit Mongolia. The same day, Mr Gankhuyag met with Eksavang Vongvichit, Minister of Public Health and head of the Lao side of the Mongolia-Laos intergovernmental commission. The sides expressed their satisfaction with finishing of repair works of the Lao-Mongolian Friendship Hospital, and then considered issues of renting land for planting rice in Lao territory for a long time, founding a joint wood-working factory and renting places in the economic free-zone in Savannakhet province.
