Vice Minister Of Defense Met Myanmar Minister Of Home Affairs

Naypyitaw, Myanmar, Sept 12 (Antara) - Indonesian vice minister of defense Lt. Gen. (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoedin met Myanmar Minister of Home Affairs Lt. Gen. Ko Ko in Naypyitaw to discuss about cooperation in the field of defense on Friday. In the meeting, Sjafrie was accompanied by Indonesian Ambassador to Myanmar Ito Sumardi, Head of Indonesian National Police Security-Keeping Agency Comm. Gen. Putut Bayuseno, many officers from the Ministry of Defense, and experts from the Defense Industry Policy Committee Judy Harianto and Silmy Karim. Meanwhile, Ko Ko was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Kyow Kyow Tin and Head of Myanmar National Police Zar Win along with other government officials. According to official information from Indonesia, the meeting discussed about the efforts of Indonesian National Police in securing national events, such as presidential election and anticipating demonstrations. The issues discussed were related to Myanmar`s presidential election to be held on October 5, 2015. Before the meeting began, 10 directors from Indonesia`s defense companies displayed their products and were observed by Kyow Kyow Tin, Zar Win, and other officers of the Myanmar National Police. Ko Ko also examined the products from PT Dirgantara Indonesia, PT Pindad, PT PAL, and other companies that produce bulletproof vests, helmets, and riot shields for policeman. The meeting ended with the presentation of a souvenir by the directors of Indonesian defense industry to Ko Ko.
