Vice-Premier Wang Yang may head Chinese delegation at Eastern Economic Forum - Russia’s Ambassador to China

BEIJING, August 20. /TASS/. Chinese Vice-Premier Wang Yang is likely to head the Chinese delegation at the first Eastern Economic Forum to be held in Vladivostok between September 3 and 5, Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov told reporters. "The Chinese delegation in Vladivostok will be led by one of government members. We expect that it will be Vice-Premier Wang Yang," Denisov said. Wang Yang, together with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Rogozin, heads the Russian-Chinese commission on preparing regular meetings of heads of government. The forum will bring together representatives of the business community, government agencies of Russia and the Asia-Pacific region, industry experts and investors. They will be presented major investment projects that are due to be implemented in the Far East. According to its organizers, the Eastern Economic Forum should be a major discussion and investment venue in the country, along with the St.Petersburg International Economic Forum, which is traditionally oriented mostly toward Western investors, and the Sochi forum where the regional development is discussed. In Vladivostok, the Russian authorities are also planning to brief representatives of the business community on the recent initiatives to attract investment to the Far East, in particular, the establishment of territories of priority development with a special tax and regulatory regime for investors.
