Vietnam-Thailand new joint Cabinet meeting set in late July

BANGKOK, July 9 (TNA) - Thailand will host the new joint Vietnamese-Thai Cabinets' meeting in late July, during which preparations for both countries' celebrations of their 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations and 3rd anniversary of their strategic partnership will also be discussed. Thai Deputy Foreign Minister Don Poramatwinai welcomed his visiting Vietnamese counterpart in Bangkok on July 8, when both of them also held talks on the upcoming Vietnam-Thailand Joint Cabinet Retreat (JCR), the third of its kind, to be hosted by Thailand. The Vietnamese deputy foreign minister reportedly expressed his appreciation to strong relationship between Hanoi and Bangkok under their agreed strategic partnertship. Besides, the Vietnamese deputy foreign minister reportedly expressed his hope that cooperation between Hanoi and Bangkok would be further enhanced under the framework of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in which both countries are member countries, as the 10-member bloc will become the ASEAN Community (AC) by the end of this year. The Thai deputy foreign minister, in turn, stressed on Thailand's determination to further promote and develop bilateral cooperation in all areas, including politics, education, socio-economy, culture and security. The Thai deputy foreign minister also confirmed Thailand's readiness to host the upcoming JCR, which is expected to be concretely successful, and to concurrently welcome Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung for his official visit to the Thai Kingdom.
