Vietnamese PM to visit Thailand July 23

BANGKOK, July 16 (TNA) - Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand as the guest of the Thai government on July 23, when he will jointly chair the 3rd Joint Vietnamese-Thai Cabinet Retreat with his Thai counterpart General Prayut Chan-ocha in Bangkok. After his arrival in the Thai capital, the Vietnamese prime minister, who will be accompanied by his wife, is first scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Thai counterpart on several issues, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation between the two member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Top issues to be discussed between both ASEAN leaders include labour, trade and investment, farm and fishery products, as well as transportation and regional and international cooperation. Both leaders will later chair the 3rd Joint Vietnamese-Thai Cabinet Retreat, in which concerned Cabinet members of both countries will take part, with top agenda including military cooperation, measures against transnational crime, covering anti-narcotics and human trafficking, trade and investment facilitations, cross-border bus and marine transport services and several others. The Vietnamese and Thai leaders will also jointly witness the signing of five documents, including those on labour and employment cooperation and the establishment of sister cities. The Thai prime minister and his wife, Naraporn Chan-ocha, will then host a luncheon in honour of the Vietnamese prime minister and his Cabinet members. (TNA)
