Village heads demand for withdrawal of protesters from Interior Ministry

UBON RATCHATHANI, THAILAND, May 3 (TNA) - Over 1,600 village heads from Ubon Ratchathani Province in the Thai Northeast are heading into Bangkok to demand for the withdrawal of anti-government protesters from the Interior Ministry. The large group of community leaders from Ubon Ratchathani's Warinchamrab District were seen getting ready to board about 40 chartered buses in front of the district office on Saturday morning, as they planned to leave for Bangkok on Saturday evening. The community leaders were scheduled to arrive in Bangkok on Sunday morning and to first gather in front of the Ministry of Defence, before moving to the nearby Ministry of Interior to announce their demand, as the ministry has been seized by anti-government People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protesters since January 2014. Meanwhile, both pro and anti-government demonstrators have vowed to continued their mass rallies in mid-May. (TNA)
