Vladimir Ilyich Tolstoy invited to Tehran Intl. Book Fair

TEHRAN,Apr.16(MNA) -- The 27th Tehran International Book Fair has invited Tolstoy’s great-great-grandson, Vladimir Ilyich Tolstoy. He has been invited to attend the opening ceremony of the event, which will be held on April 29, the organizers announced in a press release on Tuesday. Vladimir I. Tolstoy has been the director of the Yasnaya Polyana Museum since 1994. Home of the renowned writer Leo Tolstoy, Yasnaya Polyana was the place where he was born, wrote “War and Peace” and “Anna Karenina”, and is buried. Vladimir Tolstoy is the organizer of the biennial Tolstoy Family Reunions. During these reunions Yasnaya Polyana welcomes around 200 descendants of Leo Tolstoy, now living in many countries of Europe and America, who are willing to contribute to the development of Yasnaya Polyana. The 27th Tehran International Book Fair will be held at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla from April 30 to May 10.
