VP Calls For Expanding Ties With Baku

Baku, Oct 22, IRNA – Iran's Vice-President for Women Affairs Shahindokht Molaverdi here on Wednesday called for expansion of all-out ties with Azerbaijan. Molaverdi made the remarks in a meeting with Azeri Culture and Tourism Minister Abolfazl Qarayev. The Iranian official underscored that her visit to Azerbaijan is aimed at fostering mutual cooperation and participating in the Fifth Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in Development of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States. The Iranian government attaches great importance to expansion of ties with neighboring countries, she added. Qarayev, for his part, said Azerbaijan has opened its door to the world. Pointing to Azerbaijan-Iran cultural relations, he added the two countries are set to hold cultural weeks in near future. The Fifth Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in the Development of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States kicked off in Baku on Monday. OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani inaugurated the Fifth Ministerial Conference, and Azeri President Ilham Aliyev addressed the event./end
