WHO continues talks with RDIF on Sputnik V recognition — representative

MOSCOW, June 16. /TASS/. The World Health Organization (WHO) continues talks with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) on the recognition of Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, WHO Representative to Russia, Melita Vujnovic said in an interview with the Izvestia daily that came out on Thursday. "The process (of Sputnik V recognition - TASS) has not been stopped. <…> Talks are underway between the RDIF, all inspection platforms and the WHO department. A schedule of inspections has been agreed. I cannot disclose its details, since discussions are not yet over. We are waiting for proposals from the Russian side," she said. Vujnovic recalled that the RDIF has signed all legal documents needed for the Emergency Use Listing (EUL) Procedure back in late October. Inspections of Russian production facilities were scheduled for March but were not held because of the suspension in air service. Sputnik V was registered in Russia on August 11, 2020 to become the world’s first officially recognized coronavirus vaccine. To date, it has been approved for use in 71 world nations. Read more
