WHO delegation to conduct study in Bahrain

Manama, June 9 (BNA): Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health at the Ministry of Health and member of the Executive Board of the GCC Health Council, Dr. Maryam Al-Hajiri, has received a delegation of experts from the World Health Organisation (WHO). The delegation visited the kingdom to collect the necessary information for the study WHO is conducting on Economics of Tobacco in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), at the request of the GCC Health Council. The assistant undersecretary conveyed to the delegation greetings from the Health Minister, Faeqa bin Said Al-Saleh, and Undersecretary, Dr. Waleed Al-Manea. She valued highly the key role played by the GCC Health Council in various health fields. Members of the delegation lauded the high-level preparation of the relevant ministries to provide the necessary information for the study, which is requested and funded by the GCC Health Council.
