Wild elephant shot dead in Kui Buri

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, Jan 14 (TNA) - Concerned authorities have conducted an autopsy of a wild male elephant found shot dead inside a national park in Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Kui Buri district. The park officials found the 20-year-old elephant shot dead near a brook at the national park on Friday. The EOD experts used metal detectors to search for bullets in the elephant carcass. Two bullets from a shot gun and an assault rifle were found in the head and left hip. Officials said several parts of the elephant were sent to a state-run hospital in Bangkok on Saturday and results would be known within a week. Police are now hunting for the unidentified gunmen.
