WIPKL 2015 To Focus On Women Leadership Issues In ASEAN Countries - BN Women's Wing

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- The inaugural ASEAN Conference on Women in Politics 2015 (WIPKL 2015) will focus on women leadership issues in ASEAN countries, says Wanita Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil. She said the WIPKL 2015, organised by Wanita BN (ruling coalition BN women's wing), would create a political network for women in ASEAN countries. "Besides, participants will also be able to exchange their views and opinion on best practices and challenges faced in the effort to increase the number of women involved in politics," she told a press conference here Tuesday. Themed 'Promoting Representation through Connectivity and Innovation', the WIPKL 2015 will be held at the Putra World Trade Centre here on Oct 17 and 18. Shahrizat said Prime Minister Najib Razak was expected to grace the opening ceremony. "WIPKL 2015 will also be attended by representatives from ASEAN member countries, observer countries, embassies, as well as political and corporate bodies in Malaysia," Shahrizat said. -- BERNAMA
