Workshop on Epidemics Transitional Diseases Management Begins

Doha, May 04 (QNA) - A five-day Workshop on epidemic transitional diseases management, co-organized by the Supreme Council of Health (SCH ) and the World Health Organization (WHO) began here today. The workshop is aimed at training 25 SCH workers and liaison officers from the concerned organs and is held to upgrade capacities of personnel working in the health sector through the use of field epidemic means of control technologies in the public health field. Dr Mohammed Al-Hajri, Director of Health Protection and Disease Control Transitional Public Health Department at SCH said there are six lecturers from WHO along with SCH coordinators in charge of presenting activities of the workshop , which is due to discuss many important topics such as the epidemiology of infectious diseases, control and surveillance, investigation and inquiry about outbreaks of epidemics, control measures on outbreaks of transitional diseases and information about the risk .
