WORLD BANK APPOINTS ITS OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE TO MONGOLIA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The World Bank has appointed Mr James Anderson as its Permanent Representative to Mongolia. He received his office August 18 and is to begin working here from next week. James Anderson is a citizen of the USA, is a doctor of economic science. He has been working for the World Bank since 1997 and is highly experienced economist. He has worked as a senior officer responsible for governance issues in Hanoi of Vietnam in Europe and Central Asian Department in 1998-2000. In the 1990’s, he had worked in Mongolia as a consultant on organizing trainings on promoting institutional innovation and on studies of privatization consequences. Anderson is also supposed to pay visits to some Ministers here soon. Claus Roland, the WB director responsible for Mongolia, China and Korea, said that Mr Anderson will responsibly fulfill the main goal of the WB to promote Mongolia’s development, eradicate poverty and establish a system where people equally benefit from the development, through cooperation with Mongolian Government and other parties. Under the supervision of James Anderson, the permanent representative of the WB will continue promoting the Mongolian Government's measures and will cooperate with international partners, Mongolian private organizations and the civil society.
