World champion M.Urantsetseg becomes athlete of year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An international master of sports M.Urantsetseg has been named as the best athlete of the Year 2013. On Tuesday, she received the “Borte Chono” trophy from the President Ts.Elbegdorj at a ceremony ran in the Olympic House, the headquarters of Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MonNOC). M.Urantsetseg became the athlete of the year, collecting 1,069 points from 116 sport journalists and media at the Mongolian Sports Journalists’ Union through a closed poll, and she grabbed a gold medal in the Judo World Championships 2013 ran in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, being the first ever Mongolian women to judo World champion title. By the poll, M.Urantsetseg was followed by U.Monkh-Erdene, a State Honored Sportsman and Olympic bronze medalist (870 points); S.Battsetseg, a State Honored Sportswoman and Olympic bronze medalist (802 points); D.Amartuvshin, an international master of sports and silver medalist of Judo World Championships; and others. The national women’s team for 3x3 basketball was selected as the best team of the year, and Sh.Tsevelmaa become the top coach (judo).
