World famous Turkish harpist Necipoğlu laid to rest

ISTANBUL (A.A) - November 24, 2011 - A Turkish harpist, who died in a plane crash off Brazil over two years ago, was laid to rest in Istanbul on Thursday. The body of harpist Fatma Ceren Necipoglu, also a lecturer at the Anadolu University State Conservatory, died as an Air France aircraft crashed into Atlantic Ocean off Brazil on June 1, 2009. She was returning from Rio Harp Festival. Her body was found two and a half years after the plane crash, and was brought to Istanbul on Tuesday. Necipoglu was laid to rest after a funeral took place at Istanbul's Fulya Arts Center and a religious funeral at the Tesvikiye Mosque.
