World Hepatitis Day Marked

Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- There took place an event at the National Blood Center under the Ministry of Public Health Thursday to mark World Hepatitis Day. Present there were officials in the field of public health and media, members of missions of the international organizations here including the acting representative of the WHO and the UN resident coordinator who is UNDP resident representative and staff members of foreign embassies here. The speakers stressed the need for all countries of the world to briskly conduct the hygienic information service on hepatitis and intensify its prevention and treatment. Referring to the importance of combating hepatitis, they said they would make efforts to raise social concern and enthusiasm for rendering aid to this in order to completely eradicate hepatitis. The participants heard data on prevention and control of hepatitis. They watched science film "Let Us Prevent Hepatitis B" and enjoyed a performance given by the hygienic squad of medical workers. -0-
