World market needs new generations with IT knowledge

BANGKOK, January 12 (TNA) - A Thai expert has suggested that people of the new generations should not only have knowledge, but also sufficient skills in learning, in managing their knowledge and in creating new knowledge, as these factors are vital for the regional and global labour market in the 21st century. Kraiyos Patrawart , the Thai expert at the Quality Learning Foundation, told reporters on Saturday that surveys, conducted at 32 leading global firms and organisations including the Apple, Hewlett Packard Corp., Microsoft Corp. and Walt Disney, have found that all the firms prefer to recruit knowledgeable employees who also have three more important skills, namely being willing to learn with innovative ideas, being able to work with others, having leadership in mind with responsibility, and having information and technology or IT skills which are now recognised by people throughout the world. The expert insisted that all these factors are necessary so that Thailand will be able to compete in the borderless world presently. (TNA)
