World Skills Competition starts in Abu Dhabi

BANGKOK, Oct 15 (TNA) - A total of 26 Thai youths are participating in the 44th World Skills Competition, which starts Sunday in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates. The Thai youngsters are competing in 24 out of 51 skills in the competition against their fellows from 60 member countries of the World Skills International. Simon Bartley, president of World Skills International, said during the opening ceremony that this vocational skills competition is aimed at building future for people throughout the world. He said progress of international worker skills is seen every time the competition is organised, especially in the fields that the world needs such as mechanics, robot and clean energy which are used to reduce global warming problem.
