WPK Friendship Visiting Group Meets Xi Jinping

Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- A friendship visiting group of the Workers' Party of Korea led by Pak Thae Song, member of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of its Central Committee, on a visit to the People's Republic of China, met with Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China (PRC) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on May 16.
Welcoming the friendship group's visit to China, Xi Jinping said that China is attaching very importance to the work to propel the traditional friendship between the two countries sealed in blood to a higher stage as required by the new era.
He noted with pleasure that he met Chairman Kim Jong Un two times and exchanged the comprehensive and detailed views on the matters of concern including the development of the relations between the two parties and the two countries and the regional and international situation and reached the common understanding with him.
Saying that the international community is extending widespread approval and support for the new strategic line Chairman Kim Jong Un set forth at the Third Plenum of the Seventh WPK Central Committee and China, too, highly appreciates it, he hoped that both sides would exchange experience in party and state building and intensify the unity, thus jointly propelling the cause of socialism in the two countries.
Pak Thae Song expressed thanks to General Secretary Xi Jinping for paying special attention to the friendship group of the WPK's visit to China, and said that the visit would serve as an important occasion in making positive contribution to further consolidating and developing the traditional DPRK-China friendship.
He referred to the fact that the Korean party and people are concentrating all their efforts on the economic construction, true to the new strategic line advanced at the Third Plenum of the Seventh WPK Central Committee.
Sincerely wishing the Chinese people greater development in the building of socialism with the Chinese characteristics in the new era under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with General Secretary Xi Jinping as its core, Pak said that the exchange and cooperation in various fields would be strengthened to put the agreements reached by the top leaders of the two parties into practice.
The conversation proceeded in a comradely and friendly atmosphere. -0-
