Young lamas receive shoes

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Two national NGOs Tuesday gave traditional handmade leather boots to 13 children studying at the Gandantegchilen monastery of Ulaanbaatar. B.Battogs, a head of the Tengeriin Tod Tamga NGO, said the gifts aim at not only encouraging the young Buddhist students but also at promotion of domestic production. He further explained his NGO’s social welfare and nature conservation campaigns, citing freeing a sacred tree in northern Selenge province from massive khadag silk bands wrapped around it.
