Zangeneh wants restoration of Iran's pre-sanction output level in OPEC

Tehran, June 3, IRNA – Iran's Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh says Iran has sent a letter to OPEC calling for restoration of Iran's output level to that beforeimposition of sanctions once the sanctions are lifted. 'Yes, we have written a letter to OPEC, whose content is that once sanctions are lifted, Iran will within a very short span of time, raise its oil production to the level before the sanctions,' Zangeneh told a reporter on the sidelines of the 6th OPEC seminar in Vienna. Zangeneh said, 'We have asked OPEC to take the issue into consideration in its decisions.' Asked about his expectation of OPEC after sending the letter, Zangeneh said, 'If OPEC wants the prices remain the same extent, it should open the way for entry of Iranian crude.' To a question whether he thought OPEC will make any decision in that concern, he said, 'We have written our own letter and as far as our move for oil production increase is concerned, we will not wait anybody's decision. OPEC has a production ceiling and the ceiling has not yet been divided among countries at the time being.'
