Zarif derides US for giving credits to Trump

Tehran, March 26, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister in a message ridiculed US for giving fake credit to President Donald Trump. 'Trump & Co try to take credit for the 'defeat of ISIS”—which was created & nourished by their invasion of Iraq & their fomenting of unrest in Syria,' Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted on Monday. He added 'He’s also given credit for saving the Jews. So, while they're at it, he might as well take the credit for Xexes' defeat of Sparta.' Trump earlier showed a map of Syria to journalists and claimed the last enclave of ISIS will be retaken. This is while, the US administration have announced defeat of Daesh in Syria. Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi referred to Iran's resistance against Washington's policies, saying, 'Firstly, we should defend our independence and border integrity. Furthermore, such factors as Iran's background image of Washington policies; Washington's wrong policies on Middle East, including Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and Yemen; its support for Tel Aviv and its support for extremism in the region; its help for armament of certain regional states and collection of policies, which have resulted in such cases as Taliban, al-Qaeda and Daesh (ISIS), will make resistance against the US policies justifiable.'
