Zarif: Netanyahu's claims 'nonsense'

Tehran, Sept 30, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamad Javad Zarif dismissed Israeli Prime Minister's recent allegations in the UNGA saying it's nonsense. 'He's been wrong about the previous ones and he's wrong about this one,' Zarif said in an interview with US media 'CBS' on Saturday night. To a question on Israeli PM's baseless allegations that Iran had a secret atomic archive and a secret atomic warehouse, Zarif said, 'Well, he's been making allegations about Iran since 1992.' 'In 1992, according to him, we were supposed to have finished making a bomb in about five years, in 1996 still five years,' he added. 'So he's been on the record even testifying before Congress that Iran is just about to make a nuclear weapon, Iranian FM noted. Zarif went on to say that 'if he's concerned about Iran's nuclear program, the best way to make sure, is the deal that he has done his best to undermine because JCPOA, the nuclear deal, allows the IAEA the most intrusive inspections that are available in the world and Iran accepted those intrusive inspections because we did not have anything to hide.' Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano earlier in a statement announced that Iran has complied with its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). 'Iran is implementing its nuclear-related commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. It is essential that Iran continues to fully implement those commitments,' the statement read addressing a meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors. For much of his interview, Zarif said, 'The previous allegations that Netanyahu made have been investigated by the IAEA and have been rejected. So he's just trying to find a smokescreen.' 'You remember a few weeks ago he stood beside Dimona which is the bomb making factory of Israel and threatened Iran with annihilation and now he says that the Iranians threatened them with annihilation,' he added. Earlier, Zarif in a message urged the Zionist regime of Israel to admit to and open its 'undeclared' nuclear arsenal to UN inspectors. 'No arts & craft show will ever obfuscate that Israel is only regime in our region with a *secret* and *undeclared* nuclear weapons program - including an *actual atomic arsenal*,' said Zarif in a tweet on September 28 with a reference to the allegations made by the Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu at the United Nations General Assembly. 9376**1771 Follow us on Twitter @IrnaEnglish
