Zarif urges Europe to 'get wet' against US unilateralism

Tehran, Feb 17, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif urged the European Union to take more concrete actions to combat unilateral US moves around the world. 'Iran cannot forever foot whole bill for vital global security achievements–whether it's the #JCPOA, or combating of drug & human trafficking,' Mohammad Javad Zarif posted on his Twitter account as part of his speech at Munich Security Conference. 'Time for Europe to get wet if it wants to swim against dangerous tide of US unilateralism,' he added. The 55th Munich Security Conference, attended by 600 international decision-makers in various fields, including politics, trade and civil society, is underway in Munich, Germany, on February 15-17. Earlier addressing the Munich conference, Zarif criticized the US administration policies as regard walking away from Iran nuclear deal and its pressures on Europe to breach its commitments under the UNSC resolutions. 'In a recent meeting of the unwilling and the openly-coerced in Warsaw, the US Vice President and the Secretary of State both blasted Europe for even attempting—albeit without much practical success—to abide by its obligations under the JCPOA and Security Council Resolution 2231,' he said in his statement.
