Zayed Housing Programmes to implement leading initiatives, says chairman

Abu Dhabi (WAM): Zayed Housing Programme will implement housing initiatives that will contribute to the welfare of Emiratis and facilitate procedures through new solutions and strategies, according to Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of the housing scheme and Minister of Public Works. The Minister who was speaking at the programme's second media briefing yesterday said a new mechanism for applying for housing assistance as well as new standards for the handing out of housing units under construction in Fujairah and Sharjah. "The new standards for applying for housing assistance will, alongside other housing initiatives, shorten the waiting time down to two years from the date of application and allow for immediate decisions on applications for completing houses under construction and for the handing over of completed unites. This is in implementation of UAE Vision 2021," said Mr. Al Nuaimi. Al Nuaimi also announced the launch of 'Choose Your House', a new smart government service to enable applicants to choose their units and their favourite designs. He noted that families who do not own houses will be prioritised in the process which also takes into account the number of members of families. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
