Zhaparov, Tokayev discuss topical issues of bilateral and multilateral co-op

Bishkek, March 2, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov met with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The meeting of the two presidents took place as part of Zhaparov’s state visit to Kazakhstan, his press service reported. A topical issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, as well as further prospects for joint interaction were discussed. The Kazakh leader once again congratulated Sadyr Zhaparov on his election as head of state. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed satisfaction with the results of narrow format talks, adding that the sides thoroughly discussed a number of topical issues of bilateral agenda, identified the main directions of further cooperation, exchanged views on strengthening the dialogue within regional and international structures. He expressed satisfaction that in the person of Sadyr Zhaparov Kyrgyzstan reaffirmed its commitment to resolving all the issues and implementing the agreements reached earlier. On behalf of the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zhaparov expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side for the warm welcome. He emphasized that after his election as head of state, one of the first congratulations was received from Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Expressing confidence that the centuries-old unity of the peoples will be further strengthened, the Kyrgyz president noted the readiness to continue constructive dialogue. Sadyr Zhaparov noted Kyrgyzstan will continue to actively pursue a foreign policy aimed at deepening multifaceted cooperation with Kazakhstan for the benefit of both peoples. He added that a positive practice of constructive cooperation between the two countries in providing assistance to Kyrgyz citizens - primarily in their return from other countries to their homeland was developed during the coronavirus pandemic.
