Health Ministry Transports Hospitalized Pilgrims under Medical Care to Arafat

Makkah, June 27, 2023, SPA -- The convoy of ill pilgrims admitted to hospitals in Makkah, Taif, Madinah, Mina, and Jeddah reached Arafat to be able to complete their Hajj rituals while escorted by a medical team, the Ministry of Health announced.
The ministry said it transported 397 male and female pilgrims of different nationalities to Arafat, including 361 from Makkah and the holy sites and 36 from Madinah, Jeddah, and Taif, in coordination with the ministries engaged in the Hajj plan.
The ministry said the pilgrims moved through a security track designated for the transportation of the convoy to and from Arafat amid strong security efforts to ensure the smooth movement of the patients and their companions.
The ministry also prepared an integrated medical program for the convoy throughout its journey, from hospitals to Arafat and back, by following up on their health conditions.
The ministry affirmed that the medical team assigned to look after each of the patients is present during the journey to follow up on them continuously. The ministry added that meals are also provided to the patients, who also get spiritual support during their journey.
“We have been keen to secure all the necessities that the inpatients need and to implement the plan to transport the inpatients, whose health conditions allow them to perform the Hajj rituals,” the ministry said.
In this regard, the ministry has provided around 60 buses, 20 ambulances, 15 vehicles for medical supplies, and a mobile medical unit. The ministry also provided vehicles equipped with all required medical devices, including heart monitors, resuscitation devices, and oxygen cylinders to serve the convoy.
“The pilgrims’ convoy is a distinguished service for the inpatients among pilgrims of the Holy Mosque to help them perform Hajj and bring joy to their hearts by standing on Arafat,” the ministry stated.
This service is part of the efforts of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to remove obstacles facing pilgrims and enable them to perform their rituals, the ministry stressed.
