Indonesia readies health facilities for AIS Forum Summit participants

Denpasar, Bali, October 9 (ANTARA) - The provincial government of Bali has prepared health facilities for participants of the Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum Summit 2023, to be held in Nusa Dua, Bali, on October 10–11.

The Head of Bali Health Office, I Nyoman Gede Anom, stated on Sunday that the health facilities that have been prepared, among others, are mini-intensive care units (ICUs).

"There has been a direction from the Health Ministry regarding this; the procedure is the same as during the G20 Summit. Thus, we are already accustomed, and we are cooperating with a number of hospitals," he said.

According to him, the mini ICUs are prepared in the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, hotels where delegation leaders and VVIP participants are staying, and locations scheduled to be visited by the conference participants.

He noted that the mini ICUs are manned by cardiologists, internal medicine physicians, surgeons, and other doctors needed for emergency handling.

He further said that health facilities and ambulances are also available in the hotels of the 2023 AIS Forum Summit participants.

In addition, Bali Mandara Public Hospital, Wangaya Public Hospital, Mangusada Regional Hospital, Sanjiwani Public Hospital, Bhayangkara Hospital, and Prof. IGNG Ngoerah Public Hospital have been prepared to provide health services to the participants.

Meanwhile, regarding the plan to carry out COVID-19 tests, Anom stated that it would depend on requests.

"If there is still a procedure to carry out PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests, we are ready," he said.
