Iran female karateka wins bronze at 19th Asian Games
Hangzhou, IRNA – Sara Bahmanyar, a member of the Iranian women’s karate team, has secured a bronze medal at the 19th Asian Games by defeating her Japanese opponent with a score of 6-5.
Bahmanyar triumphed over competitors from Malaysia and Cambodia in the initial rounds but was unable to advance to the final match after losing to a contestant from Kazakhstan in the Kumite event.
The gold medal in this category was claimed by a karateka from the United Arab Emirates, while an athlete from Uzbekistan took home the silver medal.
This adds to Iran’s karate medal tally at the games, with Sajjad Ganjzadeh having previously won a gold medal and Fatemeh Sa’adati earning a bronze.
