Kyrgyz FM meets with Vice Speaker of National Assembly of Hungary

Bishkek, July 25, 2023. /Kabar/. The day before, on July 24, 2023, within the framework of the official visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev to Hungary in the Lakitelek area, a meeting was held with Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, Sandor Lezhak.

The sides discussed issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary, intensification of contacts between the parliamentarians of the two countries, including effective interaction within the TurkPA.

Minister Kulubaev briefly informed Lezhak about the results of the negotiations with Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó, and the 3rd meeting of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Strategic Council, during which the parties discussed a wide range of interaction and strengthening the strategic partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary, the report said.

The issues of education of the youth of the two countries were also discussed. Kulubaev noted with satisfaction the work within the framework of the Hungarian scholarship program "Stipendium Hungaricum", through which students from Kyrgyzstan annually have the opportunity to study at leading universities in Hungary on a grant basis.

The results of the first Kyrgyz-Hungarian rector's conference, held on February 13-14, 2023 in Budapest, were also positively indicated. The sides expressed their readiness to further build up bilateral cooperation in the field of education.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to discussing the issues of further development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, taking into account significant dates this year - the 95th anniversary of the birth of the Kyrgyz national writer Chingiz Aitmatov and the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Hungarian poet Sh. Petofi.
