66.6 MILLION HEADS OF LIVESTOCK FACE WINTER

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry reports that 160.9 thousand herding households are bracing for the winter with 66.6 million heads of livestock on the national level. In animal husbandry sector, preparations for winter and the spring are 82.1 percent complete on the national level based on main indicators such as the hay and fodder storage on household and administrative unit levels and water and yard sufficiency, says the report. In particular, the rate is 80-86 percent in certain aimags including Arkhangai, Bayankhongor, Bulgan, Gobi-Altai, Darkhan-Uul, Dornod, Orkhon, Umnugobi, Tuv, Uvs, Khovd, Khuvsgul and Khentii and below 80 in the rest.
