93 children from Kyrgyzstan adopted by foreigners over past four years

Bishkek, Sept. 18, 2018. /Kabar/. 93 children from Kyrgyzstan have been adopted by foreigners over the past four years, Prosecutor of the Department for combating corruption and monitoring compliance with the laws in the social sphere and protecting children’s rights Nurjan Talantbek uulu told at a press conference in Bishkek. He said that in 2014 foreign citizens adopted – 17 children, in 2015 – 27, in 2016 – 22, in 2017 – 12. In addition, since the beginning of 2018 – 15 children. The majority of the children – 88 – were adopted by citizens of USA, two children – by citizens of Sweden, 2 – Canada, and 1 - Finland. Moreover, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development conducted inspections of implementation of requirements of the legislation in intercountry adoption, as well as accreditation of residential institutions for children, during which it was established that procedures in intercountry adoption are carried out with numerous violations of the requirements of the legislation. Today, according to the data of the State Databank on children deprived of parental care (SDB), 104 foreign citizens (families) were registered as prospective adoptive parents within the period from 2014 till present.
