Ankara hosts events dedicated to 80th anniversary of Kyrgyz film director Bolot Shamshiev

From 20 to 23 December 2021, Ankara hosted events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of outstanding Kyrgyz film director Bolot Shamshiev, organized by the Kyrgyz Embassy in conjunction with TURKSOY, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported. Within the framework of the events, a photo exhibition about the life and work of Shamshiev was held, a short documentary film about the director and his films "Scarlet Poppies of Issyk-Kul", "Early Cranes" and "White Parakhod" were shown. Kyrgyz Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Senior Adviser to the President of Turkey Yalchin Topchu, Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Bilal Chakyzhy, People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Aiturgan Temirova, Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Murat Mambetov and Head of the Cinema Department of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Aisuluu Subanalieva took part in the event, who noted the invaluable contribution of Shamshiev to the development of Kyrgyz cinema, as one of the founders of the miracle of Kyrgyz cinema, shared their warm memories of the director and work with him.
