Bishkek to host Green Economy 2021 Forum and Green EXPO 2021

A business meeting was held today in Bishkek to discuss the main topics of the upcoming large Green Economy 2021 Forum and Green EXPO 2021, which will be held in Bishkek on Dec. 10. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the JIA business association, heads of the Agro-Industrial Complex, entrepreneurs in the field of green economy and media representatives. According to the organizers of the event, in the post-pandemic period, the topic of the green economy is becoming more and more relevant. In this regard, it is expected to discuss at the upcoming forum the issues that hinder the promotion of a green economy in the private sector, measures to overcome them, as well as find benefits and opportunities for sustainable development of the private sector. “At the forum, we will try to cover as much as possible all the existing problems that hinder the rapid development of a green economy. All interested parties will take part in the discussions, including direct entrepreneurs doing business here in Kyrgyzstan and abroad,” said Aidana Shabikeeva, project manager at Capital Media. In turn, the chief specialist of the strategic planning department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Ermek Ashyrov, noted that today the advanced countries are rapidly developing and implementing a green economy in many directions. “Kyrgyzstan is also interested in the growth of a green economy. For us, this is an effective lever for attracting capital and investors for various projects. The upcoming forum should become an effective platform for exchanging views, collecting information, as well as offers and demands,” he said. Meanwhile, entrepreneur Kubanychbek Alimov also expresses confidence that the future belongs to the green economy. "The world is changing. Today, environmental problems are in the first place in many states. This topic is also relevant for us. Every year our citizens face the problems of smog over the capital. The green economy is precisely aimed at solving such sensitive issues,” he summed up.
