Brunei Sultan At Sarawak Regatta 2014

KUCHING (Sarawak, Malaysia), Sept 8 (Bernama) -- Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei was among the VIPs who watched the finals of the International Dragon Boat Race held here Sunday, in conjunction with the Sarawak Regatta 2014. The sultan was accompanied by Sarawak Head of State Abdul Taib Mahmud. Twenty teams took part in the race involving about 500 paddlers. Fourteen of the participating teams were from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Macau, Brunei Darussalam (two teams), Singapore (two teams), Philippines (three teams), Thailand, Taiwan and Indonesia. The Malaysian teams were from Sabah, Putrajaya, Penang, Kedah and Sarawak (two teams). Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem, State Secretary Mohd Morshidi Abdul Ghani and state Tourism Minister Abang Johari Tun Openg also watched the events. -- BERNAMA
