Chairman of Cabinet Zhaparov on need for safety while developing Kara-Keche coal field

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov made a working trip to Naryn Oblast, where he inspected the work of the Kara-Keche coal field, the press service of the Cabinet said Monday. The head of the Cabinet got acquainted with the work of the Kyrgyz Komur state enterprise on site. During the meeting with representatives of a relevant state bodies, local authorities and coal mining companies, Akylbek Zhaparov once again reminded that in the autumn and winter period, the population, social facilities and enterprises of the energy sector should be provided with coal as a matter of priority. "It is very important that safety and order are maintained at the coal field. As you all know, preparations for the heating season started late this year. From now on this should not happen. In case of failure, those responsible will be punished. Today infrastructure issues at Kara-Keche have to be solved promptly," said the chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers. Further, representatives of coal mining companies voiced their proposals to improve working conditions in the field. Besides, the participants discussed the proposals concerning price policy on coal and development of coal industry. Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced a temporary state regulation of coal prices in the country. The decision was taken in order to prevent coal prices from rising and to provide the population with coal in a timely and stable manner during the 2021-2022 autumn-winter period.
