Child medical assistance system to be improved in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Sept. 20, 2018. /Kabar/. The system of providing short-term inpatient assistance to children in medical institutions of Kyrgyzstan will be improved and further introduced in the regions, Chairperson of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (MHIF) Marat Kaliev told on Thursday at a press conference at Kabar News Agency. He said that the system was developed by the Fund with the aim of optimizing inpatient assistance for children that don’t need prolonged hospitalization. “Short-term hospitalization is carried out in subdivisions of an inpatient facility, intended for providing one-day inpatient medical assistance to children”, Kaliev explained. At present, as the MHIF reported, 720 beds are available for short-term hospitalization at 77 health care organizations of the state, which provide inpatient assistance to children. Owing to the greater number of sickbeds, as Kaliev noted, there is an improvement of providing medical assistance – twenty-four-hour availability of major laboratory services, improved supply of necessary equipment and medications. In addition, efficient use of financial means is also observed. In the future, it is planned to improve child short-term inpatient assistance, establishment of short-term hospitalization divisions for providing obstetric-gynecologic assistance to women
