Cooperation of defense departments of Kyrgyzstan and Russia discussed in Bishkek

Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2020 / Kabar/. Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan Major General Taalaibek Omuraliev met with Commander of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces of Russia Colonel General Alexander Lapin, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. During the meeting Omuraliev noted that the Russian Federation is the main strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan. “Close interaction has been established between the two countries in many areas, in particular in the field of military and military-technical cooperation, which has an impressive potential for development in the widest range of areas of cooperation,” he said. It is noted that joint activities in the field of operational and combat training of troops, training of military personnel, and gratuitous supplies of military products are a clear confirmation of this. The chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan stressed that today the sides are working out a package of treaty documents aimed at further developing the military component of the Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation. At the end of the meeting, Major General Omuraliev confirmed that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic is aimed at further strengthening and developing bilateral military and military-technical cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. On the same day, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic, Colonel Nurlan Kiresheev met with the Commander of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, during which topical issues of cooperation between the defense departments of the two states were discussed, in particular the military-political situation in the Central Asian region, participation of military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic in the International Army Games, preparation of a draft Roadmap for 2021-2025, aimed at increasing the potential of command and control bodies and troops of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of operational and special training.
