DPRK introduces simpler visa issuance procedure for Russian tourists

MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. DPRK has cut down the procedure of issuing visas to Russian tourists to two days, the press service of NKorean tour company said on Monday. "The DRRK has introduced a simpler procedure of obtaining visas by Russian tourists," a spokesperson said. "Examination of visa applications for tours during the New Year vacations [December 30 to January 8 in Russia] may take a mere one or two days," he said. This contrasts markedly with the 20 or so days that the issuance of North Korean tourist visas took a year ago. The company also said the number of Russian tourists visiting the DPRK doubled in the period of January through September 2017 compared with the same period in 2016. Read more
