EEF 2017 participants can visit Russia without visas from September 3 to 9 - government

MOSCOW, July 25. /TASS/. Foreign participants in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) will be able to visit Russia without visas from September 3 to 9, the Russian government said in its decree posted on the official web portal of legal information on Tuesday. The decree of the Russian President establishing that foreign citizens can attend the EEF without visas on the basis of national documents and accreditation certificates issued by the Forum steering committee was issued in 2015. The government since then annually determines the specific time period for such visits. "To establish that foreign citizens and stateless persons stay in the Russian Federation in connection with participation in the Eastern Economic Forum from September 3 to 9," the decree says. The Eastern Economic Forum will be held in the Far Eastern Federal University on the Russky Island for the third time from September 6 to 7, 2017. It has already become a major international communication platform for businesses, political circles and the expert community of Russia, Asian-Pacific countries and the Association of South-East Asian Nations. Delegations from 24 countries, including representatives of China, Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States, as well as Britain, Germany and more, have already confirmed their participation. Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the Forum together with several foreign leaders, including Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in.
